The Widarshall kennel is dedicated to the Gończy Polski, also known as the Polish Hunting Dog. It is affiliated with the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. and focuses on scenthounds as well as their facilities for loud hunting. The hunting background goes back more than four decades, and the hunting license has been held for more than 25 years. Dogs were part of everyday life from the very beginning, initially especially Dachshunds and German Shepherd Dogs. A Wirehaired Dachshund was the first dog of their own and laid the foundation for their involvement with hunting dogs. The pack consists of seven Gończy Polski and one Bavarian Mountain Hound. The dogs are trained and handled at trials by the breeder themselves. Around 50 hunts a year lead through forests, reeds and cornfields, in low mountain ranges and lowlands, after wild boar, red deer, mouflon and roe deer.
