The vom wilden Holz kennel in Windehausen is dedicated to the Black and Tan Coonhound and is affiliated with the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. Its current focus is based on many years of experience with dogs, training and dog sports. Knowledge from earlier work with Rottweilers also shapes its breeding activities. With the arrival of the first Black and Tan Coonhound bitch, intensive involvement with this breed began. The bitch was trained in private mantrailing and regularly presented at shows. Further dogs emerged from this line, forming the foundation of the vom wilden Holz breeding program. The focus is on healthy, willing-to-work dogs that conform to the breed standard. The selection of breeding stock takes health, working aptitude and conformation into equal consideration. The kennel places particular emphasis on secure environmental socialization of the puppies, as well as responsible, everyday-oriented care and upbringing.
