Needs change over time
Kitten : A highly digestible and energy-dense diet is necessary to support growth without overloading the digestive system.
Adult : The ration must cover daily energy needs while maintaining a stable weight and good skin quality.
Senior : The diet must remain palatable, highly digestible, and adjusted to the cardiac, renal, and body condition of the older cat.
Which food?
Kibble, wet food, or home-cooked diet?
Premium complete kibble or a balanced wet diet suit the Sphynx well, provided they are adapted to its age, activity level, and individual sensitivity. Some breed-specific formulas exist, but the most important thing remains a sound composition and good digestive tolerance.
Amounts
How much should you give?
The daily ration must be adjusted to the cat’s weight, activity, and body condition. Some individuals may eat a little more than average to compensate for their energy expenditure, but distribution must remain controlled to avoid imbalances.

Change
Managing the food transition
Any change in diet must be gradual over several days in order to limit digestive upsets and promote good acceptance. A slow transition is particularly useful for sensitive cats or those very attached to their habits.
Hydration
Water: do not overlook it
Clean, fresh water must remain available at all times. As with all cats, good hydration contributes to overall comfort and can be encouraged by using a fountain or by incorporating wet food into the diet.
Little extras
Treats, in moderation
Treats should remain occasional and be included in the calculation of the daily ration. They can be used to positively reinforce care, handling or small exercises, without becoming an excessive source of calories.

- Leave fresh water available at all times.
- Regularly monitor body condition rather than relying solely on appetite.
- Introduce any new food gradually.
Never give
The Sphynx must not consume chocolate, onion, garlic, grapes, alcohol, caffeine, cooked bones or dough containing xylitol, as these foods can cause severe digestive, neurological, cardiac or hematological disorders in the cat.
