Sagahundens

Sagahundens is a home-based breeding kennel of Icelandic Sheepdogs in Frederikshavn. The breeding is based on experience with the breed, which has been part of everyday life since 1992. The first litter arrived in 2007, when breeding first became relevant, after the dogs had achieved the desired quality. Since 2004, the breeding dogs have lived up to this focus. The goal is physically and mentally healthy, breed-typical puppies. Emphasis is placed on genetic variation and a low coefficient of inbreeding, while the dogs’ health has high priority in the breeding work. Sagahundens has completed the DKK breeder education. The puppies are born in a home environment and grow up close to family life. From the very beginning, they receive imprinting and socialisation for life as family dogs. The dogs are actively trained, and the kennel participates in DcH obedience and rally obedience.
