Bersihundens Icelandic Sheepdog breeder in Allingåbro · Denmark

Bersihundens in Allingåbro breeds Icelandic Sheepdogs. Although the breeding programme is relatively new, it is based on experience with the breed dating back to 2003. The kennel works to breed dogs that can naturally fit into family life while also suiting an active everyday lifestyle. The breeding programme is based on DKK breeder education. Skills from training as a DKK instructor and experience as a rally judge are also part of the work with the breed. The goal is breed-typical dogs with a good and stable temperament, as well as opportunities for showing and many kinds of training. In the breeding work, consideration is given to the environments the dogs encounter throughout their lives. Bersihundens also places emphasis on genetic variation by working with less widespread genes in the breed. This perspective is important for preserving diversity in a breed with a limited genetic base.
