The kennel of Cead Mille Failte in Überherrn is dedicated to the Bearded Collie and is affiliated with the Deutscher Collie-Club e.V. The enthusiasm for Collies goes back to childhood: A first mixed-breed dog was later followed by purebred dogs in the colours Sable and Blue Merle. Professional experience from a veterinary practice complements the long-standing personal connection with the dogs. After her own Collie bitch moved in, the desire to breed herself arose at the beginning of the 2000s. The protected kennel name made it possible to begin breeding, which was initially interrupted after a first litter and the bitch falling ill. With a bitch who moved in later, breeding could be continued. From the subsequent litters, individual breeding bitches remained in the home and form the basis for continuing the small-scale breeding programme. Several generations live there together, from the older bitch through her daughter to her descendants. The family environment is also shaped by other animals.
