Fyrkat is a small, serious breeder of Welsh Springer Spaniels in Hobro. The breeding program places great emphasis on health and works with a clear female line that can be followed through three generations. The female line has been photographed through the generations and is mentioned with impressive results. The dogs at Fyrkat are trained for hunting and are also used in hunting contexts. Their qualities are thus linked to an active life, where training and practical use go hand in hand. The breeding program highlights the working spaniel as a central part of everyday life. At the same time, the dogs live as indoor dogs and family dogs. Fyrkat describes an everyday life in which the dogs both have a function in hunting and are close to the family at home. The combination of a focus on health, hunting training and family life characterizes the breeding program’s approach to Welsh Springer Spaniel.
