Eskifjórdur's

Eskifjórdur's is a breeder of Icelandic Sheepdogs in Padborg. The breeding programme works for healthy, breed-typical, robust and well-socialised family dogs with a good temperament. The breed's lively and cheerful nature, as well as its desire for shared activities, are central qualities in the breeding work. When selecting breeding animals, the kennel places great emphasis on examining the parents' health and genetic conditions, including keeping the inbreeding coefficient as low as possible. The offspring's health is also monitored through checks of hips and eyes, so that the dogs' suitability for continued breeding work can be assessed. Behind the breeding programme lies experience with dog sports and breeding, including from previous work with Greenland Dogs and Alaskan Huskies. The kennel has completed breeder training, is approved according to DCNH's rules and also breeds in accordance with the rules of the Danish Kennel Club.
