The cattery of Villa Ingenheim in Potsdam has been dedicated to the Chartreux, the original French Carthusian cat, for twelve years. As a member of a FIFé patronage club, the cattery is committed to preserving this old natural breed. When selecting the parent cats, complete pedigrees, stable health and a lovable character are the main priorities. The adult cats live closely integrated into family life and can move freely throughout the entire home. The kittens also grow up together with their parents right in the household, which promotes their socialization. Villa Ingenheim also presents its cats at shows; among the parent cats are animals with Champion and International Champion titles. The three breeding queens each have offspring once a year. A suitable new home is selected with particular care for the kittens. They are not placed before the age of 13 weeks. The young Chartreux move into their new homes with a pedigree, microchip and international pet passport.
