Zaijas Pyrenean Mastiff breeder in Pielavesi · Finland

Zaijas is a dog breeder based in Pielavesi whose breeds include the Pyrenean Mastiff. The breeding work is long-standing: Caucasian Shepherd Dogs have been bred since 1997 and South Russian Shepherd Dogs since 1999. The foundation of the operation is made up of flock guardian dogs in accordance with their breeds. The breeding is deliberately small-scale, and litters are usually born once or twice a year. The limited number of litters reflects the operating method stated by Zaijas. The aim of the breeding is to produce dogs with potential for both practical tasks and shows. The breeding emphasizes the original purpose of flock guardian breeds and breed-typical appearance. Long experience with the two aforementioned flock guardian breeds, together with a moderate pace of litters, forms the foundation of the operation in Pielavesi. In Zaijas's presentation, working and show objectives go hand in hand.
