The von der alten Birke breeding program has been dedicated to the Shetland Sheepdog since 2017. The breed is described as particularly beautiful, occasionally quite talkative, and at the same time exceptionally fascinating. All color varieties of the Shetland Sheepdog are represented in the breeding program. Since April 2021, the breeding program has been located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district. Following the move from the outskirts of Berlin, its surroundings are in a quiet area characterized by water and forests. Von der alten Birke is affiliated with the Club für Britische Hütehunde e.V. The focus is therefore on breeding Shetland Sheepdogs, a British herding breed whose diverse appearances and lively nature shape the direction of the breeding program.
