The Hovawart breeding program vom Wittegrund in Hann. Münden has been dedicated to breeding this breed in the Rassezuchtverein für Hovawart-Hunde e.V. since 2009. As a hobby breeding program, it pursues the goal of raising healthy, breed-typical dogs with a well-established temperament, self-confidence and resilience. The focus is on Hovawarts that are suitable both for an active family life and for various areas of dog sports. The dogs are intended for committed people who can provide them with sufficient activity, exercise and close integration into family life. The puppies are born in the house and subsequently gradually discover the living areas as well as the puppy garden. In an age-appropriate manner, they become familiar with various environmental stimuli, different people and travelling by car. When they leave, the puppies are vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed several times.
