vom Alten Dorfladen

The breeding program vom Alten Dorfladen is located in Nidda, in a small village at the foot of the Vogelsberg. The rural farm is shaped not only by dogs, but also by sheep and horses. Previously, two Golden Retrievers lived there, both of which reached an advanced age. In the later search for a suitable dog breed, clear characteristics were the focus: They wanted a robust and enduring dog that can accompany horses on trail rides. At the same time, it should be compact, adaptable, and self-confident, without showing a strongly pronounced hunting instinct. Less shedding also played a role in the choice. These requirements led vom Alten Dorfladen to the Löwchen, which is also known as the Petit Chien Lion. Its characteristics suit life with sheep, horses, and dogs on the farm. The breeding program is certified by the Verband Deutscher Kleinhundezüchter e.V.
