Svarti Skogar

Svarti Skogar is a kennel for Icelandic Sheepdogs in Altensteig in the Black Forest. The close connection with Iceland, its impressive landscapes, its culture and, in particular, its animals shapes the focus of the breeding program. The surroundings inspired by the island provide the setting for working with this Nordic dog breed. Experience with Icelandic horses has existed for more than two decades. The breeding of Icelandic Sheepdogs began more than ten years ago and complements this long-standing involvement with animals from Iceland. The breed, with its special characteristics, is the focus of care and the kennel. Health and keeping the animals in a manner appropriate to their needs are highly valued at Svarti Skogar. The breeding program is affiliated with the Deutscher Club für Nordische Hunde e.V. and focuses on responsibly caring for its Icelandic Sheepdogs in the Black Forest.
