Löwehjerte's Little Lion Dog breeder in Otterup · Denmark

Kennel Löwehjerte's is a dog breeding kennel in Otterup specialising in Petit Chien Lion, also known as Löwchen. The kennel has experience as a dog owner and breeder since 1980. After many years with German Shepherds, interest in the small lion dog was awakened around 20 years ago, and the breed has since become the focus of the work. When a litter is planned, breed type is important, but the dogs’ health and mental resilience are given the highest priority. Each mating is chosen with great care. The bitches are health-tested, approved for breeding and examined for patellar luxation. Before they are included in the breeding programme, they must be in good condition and, as far as possible, shown at a dog show under one or more judges. The kennel’s four lions live as family dogs, and the puppies that are occasionally born grow up close to everyday life in the home. The kennel has completed the DKK breeder education programme and works with a breeding practice in which health, temperament and careful selection go hand in hand.
