Edle von den Wasserbergen is a family-run hobby kennel in Schriesheim. The kennel is dedicated to the Portuguese Water Dog and is affiliated with the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. The focus is on a close bond between the dogs and the home environment. The adult dogs live in the house, and the puppies also grow up in the family. They are carefully supported there and encouraged in their development. The kennel describes the Cão de Água Português as people-oriented, intelligent, and exceptionally family-friendly. Health examinations and relevant genetic tests are carried out for the breeding dogs. When selecting suitable pairings, the kennel places importance on the health and stable temperament of the offspring. Linebreeding is avoided; instead, males are also sought internationally that are as little related as possible to the females, in order to support genetic diversity.
