The Crowd Surfer’s kennel in Fröndenberg is affiliated with the Cao de Castro Laboreiro and is a member of the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. The focus is on dogs whose breed-typical characteristics are intended to bring just as much joy to their future families as to the kennel itself. When selecting pairings, the kennel gives equal consideration to health and temperament. Available genetic tests are used to have the dogs examined. Planning a litter is carried out carefully, with consideration for character, health aspects, and the suitable traits of the individual dogs. The dogs are kept busy in a variety of ways: this may include obedience, agility, and water work, as well as quiet hours at home. Several dogs were trained as therapy companion dogs and worked in child and youth welfare services as well as in ambulatory assisted living. Shows are also part of the program; one male also passed a water work test.
