Bjørnskov

Bjørnskov is a small-scale Basset Hound breeding program in Åbenrå with DKK's breeder education. The focus is on health and on dogs that function in several contexts. The breeding program's dogs have achieved good results in the working dog class, at shows and in blood-tracking tests. The dogs are family members and take part in everyday life inside the house. The puppies also grow up in the middle of the home and thus become part of the family's daily life. Bjørnskov places a high priority on socialization and has clear expectations for the dogs' behavior. The breeding program also sets high requirements for the future homes to which the puppies will move. Health work includes testing for POAG, and only dogs with a result clear of POAG are included in the breeding program. Family life, social development, behavior and POAG status thus constitute central parts of Bjørnskov's approach.
