Weser-Ems-Hallen Oldenburg · Europaplatz 12, 26123 Oldenbourg
Organized by Weser-Ems-Halle Oldenburg GmbH & Co. KG
Public pet fair in the Weser-Ems region, organised for over 30 years: dog area with breed presentations by clubs and breeders, cat area, small animals, demonstrations and advice.
A puppy and kitten fair is a sales exhibition where breeders present their puppies and kittens to the public over a weekend, usually at an exhibition center, racetrack, or convention center. You can meet dozens of dog and cat breeds in one place and talk to breeders. You may even be able to take a pet home, provided it's old enough under the law and has the required health records. A vet checks the animals before the fair opens, and visitors' pets aren't allowed.
Fairs are organized by specialist operators who travel from city to city throughout the year, as well as by a few major pet shows with breeder areas. Each fair is listed above with its official website, where you can find opening hours, tickets, and the list of confirmed exhibitors.
A fair is still a quick sale: take the time to check the breeding facility, its code of ethics, and the animals' living conditions, and don't hesitate to follow up with the breeder after the fair. You can also plan your visit by finding breeders listed on Pedibase near the fair's city.
Check health and age
A puppy or kitten can't be transferred before eight weeks of age. Ask for the health record, the date of the first vaccinations, and the veterinary certificate provided at the time of sale.
Ask for the paperwork
Microchip identification, breeder registration number, sales contract, and, for an animal registered in a studbook, a birth certificate or pedigree: you should receive all documents on the day.
Ask the breeder questions
Where do the parents live? How many litters are born each year? What health tests are done for the breed? A passionate breeder will be happy to answer and invite you to visit the breeding facility.
Avoid impulse purchases
Choose a breed and set a budget before you go, compare several breeders, and don't be afraid to leave without a puppy. A good breeder will give you time to think.
Puppy and kitten fairs mainly take place from January to April, with a second wave from September to November. Organizers announce dates throughout the year: confirmed 2027 fairs are dated above, while others are marked “dates to be confirmed” until officially announced.
Admission is usually €5–€10 per adult, with reduced rates for children and free entry for very young children; major fairs in capital cities cost more. The exact price is listed on each fair's website, linked from its listing.
Yes, if the animal is at least eight weeks old, identified, vaccinated, and the breeder gives you the sales documents required by the country's regulations (veterinary certificate, bill of sale, health record, or passport). However, many breeders prefer to take a reservation and arrange for the animal to be collected at the breeding facility.
No. For health reasons, visitors' pets aren't allowed at puppy and kitten fairs. Only exhibitors' animals, which are checked by a vet before the fair opens, are admitted.
Organizers select registered breeders and arrange veterinary checks, but this doesn't replace doing your own research. Ask about the breeding facility, request to see the parents, and read reviews before making a commitment. Our code of ethics summarizes what to check.
Use the map at the top of the page: each marker represents a 2027 fair in Germany. Click one to see the dates, address, and official website. The list is sorted by month so you can quickly spot upcoming events.
Contact a breeder directly for the breed you're interested in. Pedibase lists dog and cat breeders by breed and city, so you can get in touch, visit the breeding facility, and reserve a puppy or kitten from an upcoming litter without waiting for a fair.
Find a trusted breeder in your area and reserve a puppy or kitten directly from the breeding facility.
