A menu for every age
Their needs change as they grow
Puppy: Choose a complete diet for the growth of large-breed dogs and regularly monitor the weight curve.
Adult: Adjust energy intake to actual activity, particularly between hunting and rest periods.
Senior: Reassess calories, digestibility and joint support with the veterinarian according to body condition and mobility.
Which food?
Kibble, wet food, or homemade meals?
A complete diet formulated for large, active adult dogs is suitable, provided that its energy density and portions are adjusted to the actual effort. For the puppy, a formula adapted to the growth of large dogs is preferable.
Portion sizes
How much should you feed?
The ration must be determined according to weight, age, body condition, sterilization and physical expenditure. The manufacturer’s recommendations are a starting point to be adjusted with the veterinarian.

|---|---|---|
| 25 - 27 kg | 401 - 550 g | 2 |
| 27 - 28 kg | 425 - 582 g | 2 |

Changing food
How to switch foods successfully
Any change in diet must be gradual, generally over several days, in order to limit digestive upsets. The proportion of the new food increases little by little while the old one decreases.
Hydration
Don't overlook water
Clean, fresh water must remain available at all times, with increased vigilance after long outings, during hunting and in hot weather.
A little extra
Treats in moderation
Treats can support training, but they must remain occasional and be deducted from the daily ration to avoid weight gain.
Good habits
Make mealtimes count
- Weigh portions rather than giving them out by eye.
- Adjust the ration to days of intense effort and to rest periods.
- Avoid intense exercise immediately around the meal.
- Regularly monitor weight and body condition.
Never feed these foods
Chocolate, grapes and raisins, onion, garlic in toxic quantities, xylitol, alcohol, caffeine, macadamia nuts and cooked bones should be avoided, as they can cause poisoning, digestive disorders, internal lesions or serious organ damage.
