Zahabu Rhodesian Ridgeback breeder in Wedel · Germany

Zahabu is a Rhodesian Ridgeback kennel based in Wedel. Its close connection with dogs and other animals has shaped the history of the kennel for many years. Zahabu is affiliated with the Club zur Erhaltung der Laufhunde des Südlichen Afrika e.V. and places the Rhodesian Ridgeback at the center of its work. Keeping animals has always been an important part of everyday life in Zahabu’s surroundings. Over the years, a home for various animal species developed on a rural farm, including dogs, cats, horses, poultry and pond inhabitants. The focus was on the wish to give the animals space for living together as closely as possible to nature. The path to the Rhodesian Ridgeback began with formative personal experiences with dogs. After an early, painful loss and the search for another female dog, a particular enthusiasm for this breed became firmly established. In particular, the gentle nature of a long-term companion left a lasting impression and established Zahabu’s enduring connection with the Rhodesian Ridgeback.
