The Kauthen Ruh kennel is dedicated to the German Spitz in Utzerath. Its starting point was a black Giant Spitz female in 1996. The decision in favor of this breed was based in particular on her attentive nature and her barely developed hunting instinct, qualities that were confirmed in everyday life. The first litter was born in 1999. Since then, the kennel has continued its work with regularly planned litters. The focus is on the Giant Spitz, whose appearance and characteristic traits are to be carefully preserved. The kennel is affiliated with the Verein für Deutsche Spitze e.V., founded in 1899. Von Kauthen Ruh is committed to preserving a Spitz variety rich in tradition. The focus is on the qualities that distinguish the German Spitz: alertness, little to no interest in hunting, and its distinctive appearance. The kennel pursues this aim continuously, with an eye to the future of the breed.
