von der Rövershäger Heide West Siberian Laika breeder in Rövershagen · Germany

The von der Rövershäger Heide kennel in Rövershagen is dedicated to the West Siberian Laika. The path to dog breeding began with dogs in a rural environment and led to the first purebred dog in 1989. Many years of personal experience with various dogs form the basis for today’s work with this original breed. Membership in the Laika-Club e.V. has existed since 1997; in 2020, it marked its 23rd anniversary. West Siberian Laikas have been bred since 2016. Expertise in dog breeding was also acquired with the support of the VDH. The kennel thus combines practical experience, further training and a long-standing commitment to the Laika. Dogs from von der Rövershäger Heide are used for hunting not only in Germany, but also in Greece, Austria and Norway, including for wild boar, red deer and bear. The focus is on quality-oriented breeding of the West Siberian Laika, where care is more important than a high number of litters.
