Von der Kohlenbahn breeds Hovawarts in Sprockhövel on the outskirts of the Ruhr area and is a member of the Hovawart Zuchtgemeinschaft Deutschland e.V. Hovawarts have been part of the breeding establishment’s everyday life since 2003. Following the A-litter in 2023, a B-litter is planned for 2026. The puppies grow up in a home environment and experience the daily family routine from the very beginning. The house and garden offer them different impressions; they also become familiar with the usual sounds and events of everyday life. Activities, training, new stimuli and periods of rest are incorporated into their upbringing. The aim of the breeding programme is to produce healthy Hovawarts with a well-established temperament. Close support during the first stage of life and the diverse experiences of everyday life are intended to prepare the young dogs for their future place in new families. The focus is on family-based rearing that takes the puppies’ development and well-being into account.
