The kennel von den Helden aus den Emsauen in Rheine is dedicated to the Old German Shepherd Dog. Their experience with White Swiss Shepherd Dogs dates back to 1992. A particular preference for long stock-haired dogs followed the first short-haired female from 2004 onwards. Three females currently belong to the breeding programme, and a third litter is expected. The puppies are raised in the home environment. This gives them early exposure to typical everyday situations, including household noises, visitors, car journeys and traffic. Trips into town or visits to restaurants are also among the experiences they are introduced to. The dogs’ everyday life also includes living together with three cats. The dogs are taken into consideration on holiday trips and accompany the kennel. Care is taken to ensure sufficient exercise; when staying near water, suitable options such as dog beaches are planned.
