vom Schommer Land Austrian Pinscher breeder in Viersen · Germany

Vom Schommer Land has been dedicated to the Austrian Pinscher in Viersen since 2018, a rare and endangered dog breed. This dog was originally used as a farm dog. Its hunting instinct focuses particularly on mice and rats, which it pursues with great perseverance. The breeding program belongs to the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. Various coat structures are possible in the Austrian Pinscher, ranging from short to harsh to medium-length. The range of colors includes wheaten, reddish-brown, and black-and-tan dogs, each with white markings. These different coat colors and coat types can occur together in the litters, making the puppies appear diverse. The puppies grow up in the house and are integrated into everyday life as family members. They are handed over at the age of eight weeks. Vom Schommer Land thus places the rearing of this original farm-dog breed at the center and accompanies the first weeks of life of the young Austrian Pinschers in a family environment.
