vom Schelgenbach

Vom Schelgenbach is a dog breeding kennel in Ühlingen-Birkendorf, near the Swiss border, dedicated to the Mittelspitz in Orange-Sable. The kennel belongs to the Verein für Deutsche Spitze e.V., founded in 1899, and places this variety of the German Spitz at the center. The female dog Holly is described as particularly people-oriented, vigilant, and reliable. In the house and its surroundings, she attentively indicates what is happening, while she is reserved toward unfamiliar people. She does not show a pronounced hunting instinct; neither other animals nor bicycles arouse her interest in chasing them. Occasionally, however, her playful nature gets the chickens moving. During extended walks, Holly can usually run free, as she stays close to the kennel and can be called back well. Agility is less among her preferences, whereas she pursues search tasks with great perseverance. For breeding, she brings reliable instincts as well as the qualities of a caring and resilient mother dog.
