The Toll Free kennel in Grundhof has been dedicated to the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, also called Toller, for 21 years. It deliberately breeds this retriever breed on a manageable scale and places importance on careful, responsible rearing. The dogs are assessed for temperament and encouraged in a variety of ways. The program includes dummy work, companion dog tests, shows, and work as school companion dogs. These different activities reflect the Toller’s abilities and versatility. Toll Free is affiliated with Deutscher Retriever Club e.V. and supports the dogs’ development in various areas. For the placement of the puppies, personal selection of the future families is the focus; they are expected to get to know the dogs several times beforehand. Even after the move, advising the puppy buyers remains an important part. In addition, the kennel offers recognized educational leave for human-dog teams wishing to work in animal-assisted intervention.
