Tartufaio

Tartufaio in Windhagen is dedicated to breeding Lagotto Romagnolo. The path to this breed arose from many years of involvement with scent work, from rubble and area searches to mantrailing. Experience in search-and-rescue dog work and training also shapes the kennel’s view of the abilities of these versatile dogs. The focus is on a balanced character, sound temperament and strong nerves. The dogs regularly accompany the kennel to seminars on search and scent work, getting to know changing hotels and different environments in the process. Particular attention is therefore paid to a resilient, practical Lagotto suitable for everyday life, while preserving its eagerness to work, intelligence and sensitivity. Three Lagotto females live in the household and enrich everyday life through various forms of scent work. These include truffle and bedbug detection, mantrailing, rat searching and ID tracking. Tartufaio is a member of the Lagotto Romagnolo Züchtergemeinschaft e.V. and understands the Lagotto Romagnolo as a working dog whose original abilities should be specifically encouraged.
