Skodshøj Tjele is a dog breeder in Tjele that works with Drever in a home environment. The dogs are closely integrated into family life, and the breeding programme focuses on dogs that can thrive as family dogs. Growing up in a home environment constitutes a significant part of the setting surrounding the breeding work. The breeding programme’s dogs have been actively used for hunting for several generations. Their qualities have also been tested in working trials and presented at shows. This experience with both practical use and show activities forms part of the basis for the work with the breed. Health is prioritised in the breeding, and the dogs are examined in accordance with Dansk Gravhundeklub’s requirements and recommendations for breeding. Skodshøj Tjele has also completed DKK’s breeder education programme, which supports the breeding programme’s professional approach to the breeding work.
