Sheltiedream

Sheltiedream in Fåborg breeds Shetland Sheepdogs, also known as Shelties, from English lines. The kennel works for breed-typical dogs, where physical and mental health, a friendly temperament and joie de vivre are highly valued. The goal is versatile dogs that can function in many of everyday life’s contexts. The breeding dogs are selected with a focus on health and working enthusiasm, including an interest in obedience, sheep and showing. Among other things, they are examined for HD, AD and OCD and tested for MDR1. New breeding bitches are also DNA-tested for CEA and undergo eye examinations. The kennel follows the recommendations and breeding restrictions of Dansk Shetland Sheepdog Klub and DKK. The puppies grow up in a home environment close to the family and encounter ordinary sounds and situations in everyday life. As part of their socialisation, they are introduced to children, other animals, larger dogs, car travel and walking on a lead, among other things. The puppies leave with a veterinary examination and eye certificates. Sheltiedream has completed DKK’s breeder education.
