of Orplid Basset Hound breeder in Herborn · Germany

Of Orplid is a Basset Hound breeding kennel run by Ingrid in Germany. The breeding began in 1986 with the female Feline vom Jäger aus Kurpfalz, born in 1984, who had a first litter of eleven puppies with Kazoo vom Hollandheim. – Feline: foundation bitch; her daughters Annina and Aileen remained in the breeding program. – Emmely (third generation) and Idaho (fourth generation) continued the line; Pauline, Montana and Oxana belong to the fifth generation. The kennel name goes back to Eduard Mörike’s ballad “Der letzte König von Orplid” and a family tradition: An aunt of the breeder bred Poodles under the name “Orplids”. The breeding program focuses on maternal qualities and health examinations; females with a pronounced maternal instinct are retained for further breeding. The website offers a chronicle, puppy archive, pedigree gallery and photo album.
