The Whippet kennel of Ditchers and Dudes in Herten is affiliated with the Deutscher Windhundzucht- und Rennverband e.V. (DWZRV). The focus is on health-oriented breeding that takes the dogs’ well-being into account. Genetic aspects, haplotypes and cardiac examinations including ultrasound are considered when selecting the parent dogs. The breeding work is also based on experience in dog training since 2006. Species-appropriate care, a friendly approach and positive reinforcement are among the important principles. The aim is to breed robust Whippets and create responsible conditions for their development. The puppies are raised lovingly and personally in the house. From an early age, they become familiar with an urban environment and receive careful socialization. The kennel accompanies its dogs with particular attention to good imprinting and stable development.
