Hovawartzwinger vom Wachtelberg Hovawart breeder in Kloster Lehnin · Germany

The Hovawart kennel vom Wachtelberg breeds within the VDH and bases its breeding program on the latter’s binding guidelines. Particular emphasis is placed on a balanced temperament and the dogs’ health. The rearing process is intended to give puppies a gentle and well-supported start. The puppies are born in the house and spend their first four weeks of life there. During this time, they become familiar with the everyday sounds and routines of a household. In this way, they are introduced to living together in a human environment early and gradually. After this first developmental phase, the puppies move to an outdoor area for puppies. There, they can gather further impressions and engage with the different conditions of their surroundings. The kennel vom Wachtelberg describes preparing for later life in the human pack as an important part of its rearing process.
