Kennel Happy Lu-Danes breeds Old Danish Pointing Dog with a focus on working qualities and targeted performance breeding. The breeding animals must have documented their qualities both in trials and during practical hunting before they are included in the breeding programme. The breeding programme emphasizes the breed’s traditional qualities, including health, a stable temperament and strong hunting instincts. The kennel has completed the DKK breeder education. The goal is dogs with a friendly disposition, good potential for training and working ability in hunting. At the same time, priority is given to conformation that closely follows the FCI standard for the breed. This combination of function, temperament and breed type forms the basis for the kennel’s choice of breeding animals. The puppies grow up in the midst of everyday home life as part of the family. They naturally encounter ordinary sounds, scents, guests and cats, thereby gaining early experience of a lively home environment. As they become more active, they also have the opportunity for play and various sensory experiences in the garden, while short car rides are likewise part of their acclimatization.
