Glossners

Glossners is a Maine Coon cattery in Igensdorf north of Nuremberg. The cats live in the house and have access to a garden secured especially for them. The animal household also includes a Miniature Schnauzer and some fish. Since 2003, the cattery has been dedicated to the Maine Coon. American lines are preferred, combined with outcross and show lines. The aim is a balanced appearance without exaggerated features; XXL types, so-called Euro Coons, or blue eyes are not sought. Before being used for breeding, the cats are examined by ultrasound for HCM and PKD. DNA analyses are also carried out, as well as checks for hip dysplasia and patellar problems. In the breeding objectives, health comes first, followed by character and type. The cats are fed predominantly raw food, including the kittens, supplemented with high-quality canned food.
