The breeding dogs undergo official tests for the genetic diseases specific to the breed. The kennel describes the Akita Inu as a dog that is competent in relationships with its own kind, while noting that in adulthood it may show less tolerance towards dogs of the same sex, especially males.
The puppies grow up in contact with the family and experience stimuli useful for socialisation, including children, noises, car journeys, other animals, carriers and veterinary visits. They are entrusted after an interview with the future families, with health documentation, an ENCI pedigree, a transfer contract and certification of good health.
