Del Fuego Canario breeds Podenco Canarios in Willingen and is affiliated with the Deutscher Windhundzucht- und Rennverband e.V. (DWZRV). The kennel aims to preserve the original breed type. When selecting breeding dogs, it pays attention to Canarian bloodlines and a breed-typical appearance. Hunting aptitude is also highly valued. The dogs are handled in a variety of ways and presented in sighthound sports as well as at shows. The surroundings on the slope of the Fuchskaute contrast with the stony volcanic landscape of the Canary Islands, from which the breed originates. The puppies grow up in a family environment within the existing pack. During their early development, they are exposed to various experiences so that they can move into their future families well socialized. Before being handed over, they are vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed; they are also presented to a breeding supervisor and a veterinarian.
