The Dobermann kennel zu den Tränken in Merchweiler has been devoted to this breed with great conviction since the early 1990s. The impetus came from the first Dobermann of their own, Nanuk von der Burg Litermont. The balanced character, intelligence, temperament and sensitivity of the Dobermann are particularly valued, making it a versatile family and sport dog for the kennel. Over the years, several dogs shaped the history of the kennel, including Anton vom Katharinental, Kristo von der Tafelrunde, Qiu vom Heiligenwald and Chestnut vom Westwall. Alaska zu den Tränken from the kennel’s own A-litter also remained with the kennel. The dogs are handled and trained in dog sports. As a member of the Dobermann-Verein e.V., zu den Tränken breeds according to the applicable German animal welfare regulations. The Dobermanns live in the house and garden as part of the close family; keeping them exclusively in kennels or boxes is rejected just as much as cropping. The kennel also supports new owners in training spirited dogs and maintains ongoing contact.
