Welsh Shadows is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi kennel based in Rilland, the Netherlands. Its story grew from a childhood fascination with the breed and became a reality in 2021, when a long-awaited red-and-white female joined the household. The kennel now shares its home with three Cardigans.
Living closely with these dogs has deepened the kennel’s appreciation of the Cardigan’s distinctive character and confirmed a lasting commitment to the breed. Welsh Shadows presents ownership and leadership of its small pack as a demanding role that calls for experience, patience, responsibility and clear communication.
The kennel’s approach is also shaped by years of supporting homeless dogs in Polish shelters from 2005 and by professional work with dogs that had lost trust in people. Welsh Shadows is registered with the Raad van Beheer, linked to the Fédération Cynologique Internationale, and is a member of the Nederlandse Welsh Corgi Club.
