von Doernenburg Great Anglo-French Tricolour breeder in Ovelgönne · Germany

Von Doernenburg in Ovelgönne is dedicated to the Grand Anglo-Français tricolore, a scenthound breed that is hardly known outside France. The dogs are sporty, enduring companions for leisure and appreciate plenty of exercise as well as time in nature. Intelligence, independence and charm characterize their nature. In the house, the dogs seek a great deal of closeness, like to lie in elevated places and are sometimes sensitive to separation. Their curiosity sometimes extends to the refrigerator, oven or drawers. Fetching games are less important; a fenced garden and, when needed, a leash are sensible for this loud-trailing dog. For centuries, the breed has persistently followed the trail of selected game during the hunt until it is brought to bay. This faithfulness to the trail requires understanding of occasionally stubborn behavior. Von Doernenburg is affiliated with the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH) e.V. and provides information about puppies.
