The Labrador Retriever breeding kennel von der Oberfelder Ziegelei in Dortmund is preparing its first litter with Abby. After mating in early March 2026, the pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound in April; the puppies are expected around May 8. The breeding kennel follows the guidelines of the FCI and VDH and is affiliated with the Labrador Club Deutschland e.V. The puppies are to grow up in the living area and have direct access to the garden. From the beginning, the breeding kennel places importance on age-appropriate socialization with various sounds, surfaces, people, and animals. Car rides as well as encounters with bicycle trailers and handcarts are also part of the planned early development. Families are being sought for the puppies who have enough time for a dog and rule out kennel housing. The puppies will be microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and handed over with a pedigree. Support is also planned after they move out if there are temporary difficulties arranging care for dogs from the litter.
