The von den Wessendorfer Tannen kennel in Dorsten is dedicated to the Irish Terrier. The starting point was the first female dog, who joined the household in 2013 after successfully completing her hunting training. Enthusiasm for the breed and the proximity to hunting shaped the kennel’s further path. The first female dog was trained for hunting and passed the working ability test. Her performance also impressed experienced hunters. In 2017, another female dog joined the household, who is likewise worked in hunting. After receiving breeding approval, the kennel’s own breeding program began. Von den Wessendorfer Tannen breeds well-balanced dogs intended to be suitable as family and hunting dogs. The puppies grow up in everyday family life and experience it from the very beginning together with the adult dogs. The kennel is affiliated with the Verein für Pointer und Setter e.V.
