The family breeding program of Cyrano de Bergerac in Saarbrücken has been dedicated to breeding Pugs in the old German type for several years. The aim is to produce athletic, well-breathing dogs with a somewhat higher build and a more pronounced muzzle. Crosses with other breeds are deliberately avoided in order to preserve the typical characteristics of the Pug. The breeding dogs live in the breeder’s household and are examined by a veterinarian. Occasionally, puppies in beige or black are available. Before moving to their new homes, they are vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. They are carefully socialized and learn to live with children, other pets and the usual sounds of a household. The Pugs are intended to suit both relaxed and active people. The breeding program is supervised by a certified breeding warden, who provides expert information on questions concerning the dogs and possible litters.
