The ÖKV kennel vom Hutwinkel in Ziersdorf is dedicated to breeding Jack Russell Terriers. The focus is on rather small dogs of this breed, whose development and characteristics are intended to correspond to the established breeding objectives. For adult Jack Russell Terriers, a shoulder height of approximately 25 to 27 centimetres and a weight of around five to six kilograms are sought. In this way, the breeding programme pursues a clearly defined idea of a compact appearance within the breed. In addition to physical characteristics, vom Hutwinkel attaches great importance to temperament. The breeding programme is intended to produce dogs that are easy to handle and straightforward to train, and that are particularly suited to activities in dog sports. When selecting breeding animals, attention is also paid to good social behaviour towards other dogs.
