vom Ewaldshof

The vom Ewaldshof kennel has been breeding Jack Russell Terriers since 1976 and has been based in Eiterfeld in the northern Rhön since 2014. Its name refers to the Ewaldshof, a family estate built in 1881 that remained connected to the family over generations. The breeding program belongs to the Klub für Terrier von 1894 e.V. The impetus came from meeting a terrier-breeding family at an equestrian tournament in Zeiskam. The first female dog entered the breeding program from there. She conformed to the low-legged type and, with her lively nature, made the joy of Jack Russell Terriers clear. The horse breeding took the breeder to England a year later, to accompany self-bred horses to a riding stable near London. At a meeting of the British Jack Russell Terrier Club, he established contacts with the local breeding program. Subsequently, a female and a male from a well-known English breeding program joined the stock.
