Västerskog breeds Bearded Collies in Weidenhahn with the aim of producing healthy, intelligent and even-tempered dogs. Particular attention is paid to a cheerful, agile temperament as well as strong pigmentation. The breeding bitches combine these qualities and, with their easy-care, not overly long coats, conform to the breed standard. When selecting stud dogs, the kennel carefully examines the same health and temperament-related criteria. The matings are intended to consolidate the desired characteristics in the offspring. Västerskog is affiliated with the Club für Britische Hütehunde e.V. The puppies grow up in the living area and, according to their stage of development, become familiar with a variety of everyday experiences. In addition to the house, they have a large courtyard and a garden at their disposal. The rural surroundings, with a nearby school bus stop, also provide regular stimuli. Great importance is attached to the imprinting phase in order to create a solid foundation for the young dogs’ later lives.
