Upper Rock

Upper Rock in Bad Säckingen is listed with the Blue Bay Shepherd breed. The breeding text presented here, however, describes Australian Shepherds from Upper Rock Ranch and mentions ASCA membership as well as registration papers for the puppies. The aim is a moderate, not overly heavy Aussie type that is athletic, resilient and even-tempered. The dogs are intended to be eager to work, family-oriented and equipped with the breed-typical protective instinct; any herding talent is not specifically selected for. The puppies grow up as part of everyday family life and become familiar with noises, animals and different situations. Outings as well as tunnels, a seesaw and a suspension bridge support their early socialisation. Before they are handed over, they are dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated and examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist; they also receive an EU pet passport. The parent animals are tested for breeding suitability and eye diseases.
