Thaikatzen.at is a small hobby cattery for purebred Thai cats in Gleisdorf. At its heart is a long-standing bond with this breed and the wish to pass it on to people who value its characteristics just as much. Economic interests take a back seat to the animals’ welfare. The cattery is officially registered but does not belong to any breed club. Out of conviction, it does not participate in cat shows. Since proof of pedigree is tied to membership in the relevant clubs and the Thai cat is not recognised as a breed everywhere in Austria, no pedigrees are issued. The cats live as full-fledged family members in everyday family life and are not kept isolated in breeding rooms. The hobby cattery will only continue as long as, in the veterinary assessment, it is suitable for the animals. Hormonal contraceptives or those considered to promote cancer are not used; after breeding ends, the neutered cats remain part of the family.
