Stour Run Limited breeds Labrador Retrievers near Colchester on the Essex–Suffolk border. The farm also raises goats, native and rare-breed sheep, and cattle. Its pack includes working Labradors and a stud dog. Black and yellow females, some in darker yellow shades, may produce litters from spring to early autumn; winter is devoted to work. Licensed by Colchester City Council, the breeding dogs are family dogs. The establishment carefully discusses suitability with prospective homes and supports families while they wait through video updates and puppy play sessions. A care pack, care notes and a contract accompany each puppy's departure. Before joining new homes, puppies are wormed, have their nails trimmed and are socialised with the family. They receive a veterinary examination, and owners are given a letter from the veterinarian. Adult Labradors are kept current with vaccinations and undergo DNA health screening as well as eye, hip and elbow checks.
